Who we are
Glyphys is a social platform operated from the European Union. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and your rights under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
What we collect
- Account data: email address, handle, display name, optional bio and avatar.
- Content you publish: opinions, stances, replies, follows.
- Direct messages and (for approved members) email messages stored in your mailbox.
- Technical data: timestamps, IP address (logged transiently for abuse prevention), browser metadata.
- Push notification subscriptions, if you opt in.
Where data is stored
All data is stored on infrastructure located in the European Union. Email sending uses Amazon Simple Email Service in eu-central-1 (Frankfurt) — emails do not leave the EU.
How we use your data
- Operate the service, deliver content, and authenticate you.
- Send transactional emails (verification, security alerts, account decisions).
- Detect and prevent abuse (bounce / complaint monitoring, rate limits).
We never sell your data. We do not run third-party advertising trackers.
Email member feature
A personal @glyphys.com mailbox is granted only to active members after manual review. Inbound and outbound mail is stored in our database for as long as your account is active and is automatically purged after the configured retention period (default: 3 years).
Cookies
We use only essential cookies required to keep you signed in. We do not use analytics, advertising, or social tracking cookies.
Your rights
- Access: request a copy of your personal data.
- Rectification: correct inaccurate data via Settings.
- Erasure: delete your account and all associated data from Settings.
- Portability: receive your content in a machine-readable format on request.
- Complaint: lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
